Privacy Policy
This policy describes how the Waynex app (“we”, “the app”) handles personal data when you use it. Waynex is a group travel planning app for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch.
1. Data controller

2. Data we process
- Trip content — itineraries, places, checklists, notes, bookings, expenses, and documents you or your group add.
- Location — only when you use map or “nearby places” features, and only with your consent (“While Using the App”). We do not track location in the background.
- Photos and files — images and PDFs you attach to trips (photo library, camera, or share sheet).
- Purchase data — Plus/Max subscriptions are handled by Apple; we do not receive your payment card details.
- Technical identifiers — required for iCloud/CloudKit and StoreKit (Apple).
3. Where data is stored
- On device — most trip data is stored locally (offline-first database).
- iCloud / CloudKit — if you enable sharing or sync, trip data is stored in your iCloud account, governed by Apple’s policies.
- Third-party servers — some features contact external services only when you use them (see section 4).
4. Third-party services
- Apple — iCloud, CloudKit, StoreKit, App Store. Apple Privacy
- Google Places API (Max plan only) — we send place search queries to Google for photos and place information.
- OpenStreetMap / Overpass — open map and place data.
- Wikipedia — place previews and descriptions (Free and Plus plans).
- AI providers — if you use “Create with AI”, prompts you generate are intended for an external AI service you choose; Waynex does not send data to AI models without your explicit action.
5. Purposes of processing
We use data solely to provide app features, sync and share trips via iCloud, manage Plus/Max subscriptions, and respond to support requests.
6. Analytics and advertising
Waynex does not use third-party analytics, ads, or ad tracking. We do not sell your data.
7. Legal basis (EU/EEA)
Processing is based on contract performance, your consent (location, photos, sharing), and legitimate interest (service security).
8. Retention
Data remains on your device and/or in your iCloud until you delete it or uninstall the app.
9. Your rights
You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, and portability (GDPR). Contact support@wainex.it.
10. Children
Waynex is not intended for children under 13.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
